BigCommerce and Avasam unveil integration to create online dropshipping businesses in seconds

BigCommerce, a leading Open SaaS ecommerce platform for fast-growing and established B2C and B2B brands, has partnered with London-based dropshipping marketplace, Avasam to launch its new integration, Click2Launch

The integration empowers online entrepreneur and early startup businesses to create a fully functioning, product-stocked, sales-ready ecommerce store in a few easy steps and helps remove the complexity barrier for aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to start their own online businesses by rapidly selecting the category of products to sell, and automatically build and populate a customised webstore.

Click2Launch is the culmination of a collaboration between BigCommerce and Avasam which began in March of 2021. With a selection of pre-installed themes and pre-loaded products from a range of categories, Click2Launch provides merchants with an intuitive and simple method to set up their own dropshipping business so they can sell inventory from a wide range of products across 15+ core categories with no upfront stock purchases. Designed with BigCommerce’s Commerce-as-a-Service solution, the integration automates core ecommerce functions such as order processing, inventory synchronisation, payments and shipping so merchants can focus on scaling and growing their business.

“With the ongoing supply chain challenges and stock outages created by the increase in costs of goods, reducing supply chain touchpoints and enabling access to products close-to-source is a competitive advantage this integration offers for small-and medium-sized ecommerce merchants,” said Jim Herbert, senior vice president and general manager EMEA at BigCommerce. “We’re extremely pleased to announce the release of Click2Launch. Designed with our partners at Avasam, our new integration makes large strides in simplifying the process for small businesses or aspiring entrepreneurs to create their online dropshipping business.”

Avasam is the UK’s multi-channel DropShipping marketplace and provides all the tools needed for online sellers to integrate their store, source products from UK-based verified suppliers and automate their order processing, payments and shipping.

“The biggest challenges we’ve seen online sellers face include setting up their storefront and choosing which products to source and sell. The Click2Launch integration makes it even easier for sellers to set up their online business and have more time to spend on getting customers. Our catalogue team curates top trending products and pre-load them into your store ready to sell based on your category of choice — it couldn’t be easier,” said Mustafa Khanbhai, Chief Revenue Officer, Avasam. “The Avasam marketplace has rapidly grown with products from leading suppliers across key categories including home and garden, health and beauty, consumer electronics, sport and fitness and even pet supplies.”

The estimated market value of dropshipping has seen a surge in recent years. By 2026 it is forecasted to grow to 476.1 billion U.S. dollars globally due to the flexibility and agility it offers to individuals setting up online businesses, minimising risk by reducing costs such as storage, logistics and the products themselves.

How do we solve the issues with lockers?

We’ve all seen the banks of parcel lockers that we’ve all seen outside supermarkets and train stations. They are clearly a sensible idea, and one that I’ve been more than willing to use, but I’m very rarely given the option to do so when ordering goods online. Part of the problem, according to Gary Winter, VP of global strategic initiatives for parcel lockers at Quadient, is that they are invariably linked to a single delivery firm – such as Amazon or InPost – and this limits traction.
